Prepping for prom doesn’t stop at buying your dress! Your senior prom is coming up fast. Here are a few reminders to make the prep less stressful and more fun.
Dress plus, plus…
This might be a no-brainer but you really need to try your entire outfit on a couple of weeks before prom. Are there any last minute tailoring adjustments needed? Wear your shoes with the dress, how about a bag? Does it all work together. And don’t forget undergarments! Put it all together to make sure you’re comfortable and happy with the whole look.
Shoes
If your shoes are brand new then put them on and walk in them outside. Scuff up the bottoms a little bit so that you’re not sliding around. For a little comfort you can add foot petals.
Hair & Makeup
Whether you’re going to a salon or having someone going to the house confirm your appointment. Bring pictures of how you’d like to look so there isn’t any miscommunication. If you’re doing it yourself, start early. No stressing!
Tanning
If you haven’t read my post on how to prep for a senior photoshoot then take a look. I talk about tanning as well as a few other to do’s/not to do’s that also apply to prom.
Flowers
Order your date’s boutonniere and make the pick-up early in the day. Keep them in the refrigerator and put a sticky somewhere prominent to remind yourself to get them before leaving the house. The last thing you want to do is rush back home because you forgot something. Are you sensing a theme here? Prepping for prom will make your special day A LOT less stressful.
Pictures
Relax and have fun! I see sooooo many people looking like they’re afraid to move. Your hair and dress are NOT going to get ruined if you move a little more freely. Your makeup will not run if you truly laugh. There is so much hype and build-up to Prom that I think everyone forgets to take in the moment and enjoy it!
P.S. If you’re looking for prom photos you can contact me, but dates have gone fast!
