It’s mid-April and I’m guessing, having been through this a couple of times with my own kids, that your calendar looks something like this:
May: College decisions, deposits, celebration binge buy at the college bookstore
June: Graduation, graduation parties, breathing a sign of relief that you’ve gotten through this.
July: vacation, shopping for dorm room, college stuff
August: crossing off the days on your calendar until school drop off, literally getting a pit in your stomach every time you cross out another day.
All of those things are rite of passage. Right? Doing, doing, doing. Have you sat back and taken in the significance of what is happening right now?
Have you taken a minute to really soak in the child who is in front of you and will be stepping out of that “child” into an adult within weeks?
This is your reminder that it’s Mid-April and you still have time to mark this milestone in a meaningful, thoughtful way.
It’s a gift to her and most definitely a gift to yourself. For her, you’re giving her an experience of feeling what it is to step into everything that’s possible.
For you, you get to hold onto a little piece of that child who will be completely gone in a matter of a couple of months.
Book your senior photoshoot NOW before it is too late. When you’ve returned from dropping her off at school and you have nothing tangible from her last days as a kid.
