There are 3 reasons to book winter senior photos. Most people shy away from winter photoshoots because they automatically think it’s too cold. I’d like to give you a different opinion about winter senior photos.
1. Variety of locations that offer indoor and outdoor options
Winter is the ideal time of year to get a mix of both indoor and outdoor locations. I’ve got access to an old factory that has been converted to shooting space. It’s got heavenly light coming through floor to ceiling windows and is a dream to shoot in as well as offering endless spaces for different looks. For those of you who love the winter months we can shoot outside and then hop inside or shoot solely in or out. This is the only time of year I offer indoors options.
2. Light that you can’t get during spring or summer
Have you ever heard of golden hour? It’s the time of day when photographers love to photograph. At the end of the day there’s a soft golden light. During the winter the light is soft for most of the day and it’s one of my favorite times of the year to photograph. It gives you a glow.
3. Layering clothes means visual interest
If you’ve been following me for any bit of time and/or have gone to the Editorial blogs I’ve posted then you know that layering is a thing with me. Why? Go get my 3 Secrets to Styling and you’ll learn (among other things) that layering adds visual interest. Check back here next week to get into the details of what to wear for winter senior pictures. There are so many options above and beyond puffer jackets, although that’s super-cute for a set.
You may not be a winter person but these 3 reasons to book winter senior photos may just get you thinking a little differently. So what do you say? Are you ready for your Senior photoshoot?! Get in Touch to set up a call to discuss.
