Inspiration for an editorial senior photoshoot happens everywhere for me. There’s a new offer coming up that will allow me to do a lot more of this. I’m not quite ready to roll it out just yet, BUT, if you’re a fan of the editorial style, have a bunch of friends and want senior pictures…let’s just say you’ll want to get on my VIP list. You’ll see!
Inspiration sources
I’ll pull inspiration from just about anywhere and when I feel that tug in my soul, I know I have to follow it. It can be music, the way the sun hits a particular location, a gorgeous dress (’cause you all know how much I love a swirly party dress!) or a color palette.
The Beginning
This photoshoot began with the Train song Drops of Jupiter. I can listen to that song on repeat, forever. There’s a dreaminess to it and the words, well they create a feel in my head that I know I want to style into a photoshoot.
Creating a Mood Board
Then I start posting to a moodboard, pulling clothes, color palettes and snippets of the song. I work with my senior squad to get their input and then over time pull it all together.
Photoshoot day
It always seems to work in our favor because as usual the lighting was just perfect. I wanted a slightly hazy early summer evening. And just like we ordered, that’s what we got! Obviously it doesn’t always happen that way which means I just have to look a little harder to find the light I want.
Making Magic
When it all comes together and I start putting the images together post photoshoot it’s like magic. Really, that’s what it feels like to me, magical. Take a look below. You can also go HERE for the magazine and music that was created for this photoshoot.
New offer
Again, I’ve got a new offer coming out that I’ve been talking to a bunch of girls about. It all ties into inspiration for an editorial senior photoshoot and senior pictures. You’ll want to get on my VIP list for this one because it’s only being offered to those on the list.
