Senior pictures with emotion don’t happen by accident. Getting to the core of who a person is and showing a range of emotions is a process. When people hear “process” they think…ugh, that means a lot of work, it’s not! It’s my business to ensure everything feels, effortless, fun and enables you to get lost in the moment, feeling free to be exactly who you are. Just like this senior who was so deep into feeling good that we didn’t want to stop.
I’m going to give you the Reader’s Digest version of what my process is and then you can go down the rabbit hole as far as you’d like by clicking the links or cut to the chase and schedule a call with me.
Step 1: Finding a photographer that’s right for you.
There are so many photographers out there and it’s important to find the one you fit best with. If you’re a free-spirited, adventurous girl who loves to laugh and wants editorial style images with all the emotions then I’m your photographer. If you have a different style and look, for example, more traditional, then you’ll want to find a senior photographer who does that. You can read through my 5 Questions to Ask your Photographer to help you.
Step 2: Have a consultation
I always schedule a call with potential clients prior to booking a photoshoot. Why is that? It’s because I believe in conversations to ensure we’re a good match and to fully inform you about the experience with specifics as it may pertain to you. Remember, my intent is to deliver senior pictures with emotion! For instance, if I find out that you love being at the beach in the summer then we’re going to aim for a summer beach shoot. A month ago, during an inquiry call I found out that the senior loved playing the piano so I found a piano for her to play.
The consult call is also an opportunity to discuss any add-ons to your photoshoot which you may be looking for such as siblings, family, pet… All of this effects pricing which I detail in full, after we’ve nailed down what you’d like your experience to be. There is no obligation to book after the consult call, it’s an opportunity to see if we’re a match.’The consult call is also an opportunity to discuss any add-ons to your photoshoot which you may be looking for such as siblings, family, pet… All of this effects pricing which I detail in full, after we’ve nailed down what you’d like your experience to be. Step 3: Book it! Then Prep.
This is when it really starts getting fun. Once you’ve decided, YES! Paige P. is the photographer for my senior photoshoot then you submit a shoot fee, complete paperwork such as model release form, policies, pricing and we select a date. Then we start with styling and tailoring your shoot for you. If you’re not receiving any type of paperwork from your photographer with full details laid out, then be prepared for surprises.
Step 4: Photoshoot day
Everything (!) I do is to ensure that you have the best senior photoshoot day ever. My intent is to have you lost in the moment, feeling free from all the pressures of being a senior in high school, looking natural, glowy and having fun. It’s natural to be nervous, which lasts for about a minute and I don’t stop talking. I’d never expect you to know what to do. I direct you and we move a lot with me showing you exactly how to move.
Step 5: Gallery Reveal
This is my second favorite day (photoshoot day is my favorite). You’ll have a gallery of approximately 40-50 images that are edited. I usually have tissues on hand for mom because this will be a gallery of senior pictures with emotion. You decide which product(s) you’d like to order, whether it’s an album (most popular), prints or sets of digitals. I’ll help you through the process to get you to the final of number of images that you’d like. Whatever you decide, know that they are of the finest heirloom quality that will be in your family for lifetimes to come.
BONUS
We usually become friends and more often than not we end up working together again in the future whether it’s for a personal branding/headshot, white shirt shoot or I’m now photographing some of my earliest clients for engagement pictures. I love following you through life’s happiest moments.
I photograph editorial style with emotion, meaning there’s lot’s of movement, you look and feel natural with magazine worthy images.
Schedule a Call to see if we’re a match! I’d love to photograph your senior portraits.
